Picked up from the free shelf at the used book store yesterday. I have read a number of Price's books (he's an NC native) but don't think I've read this one. From Amazon:
Bridge Boatner has never forgotten the drama that unfolded at a summer camp in the Smoky Mountains in 1954. He was twenty-one then, art counselor at Camp Juniper, an environment lush with nature and buzzing with rowdy boys on the brink of manhood. Into their midst came a gifted boy tied to a terrible past and an equally mysterious future -- a future that would leave Bridge forever changed . . .

I liked this story way better than Blue Calhoun, the last book I read by Price. This is a fairly straightforward coming of age story but is told in Price's wonderful style.
My favorite quote from this one: "It still impresses me no little that, in the whole New Testament, Jesus goes to church - synagogue - no more than twice by my count, and each time it gets him in serious trouble."
