I found this book enthralling and it was so easy to become absorbed into Paris, France and the war. Reading it was like having a WW2 documentary from the history channel unfold in your mind. It really is a disappointment that Irene was not able to complete the entire story but the world is fortunate to have been given the opportunity to read what she left behind. So clearly do you sense the class distinction and so compelling does she describle the people and the places.
