Toasting Tina (Jane Stuart & Winky Mystery)
3 journalers for this copy...
Tina Vale, the new vice president and publisher of Corsair Books, made more than a few enemies as she slept and schemed her way to the top. Now Tina has a score to settle with Jane Stuart. Nearly twenty years ago, Jane married Tina's former lover. Now that Tina's in charge, she aims to make Jane pay by cancelling her client's million-dollar contract. As the local hotel struggles to accommodate the annual RAT (Romance Authors Together) convention and a cat show, Jane tries to conduct business, win Winky a ribbon, and come to terms with Tina's bombshell. But soon she has even more on her plate. When Tina fails to show up for her own awards ceremony, she is found dead in her bath, electrocuted with one of her prized antique toasters. There are nearly too many suspects to count, but chief among them is Jane herself. And so, with the reluctant blessing of her boyfriend, police detective Stanley Greenberg, she begins to unravel the mysteries behind Tina's many enemies...and find out which one hated her enough to kill...
I thought the story was ok. It was a nice cozy to read, but I kept waiting for more action to occur. Adding to my "Girls Only" book box.

Sending out in my "Girls Only" Book Box.
Took out of the Girls Only bookbox. This is a new author for me.
This mystery was ok, but I probably wouldn't read more in this series. The characters weren't as well developed as I would have liked.

Picked up tonight at Seconds! The Burnaby/New Westminster BookCrossing Meetup. Looking forward to some quiet time with this 'cozy' read. Thanks!
Not a lot of action, no, but, an interesting choice of weapon!
And I kept wondering why and how Tina Vale found herself collecting toasters...
Here's some neat old ones - I'd sure like that 1948 Canadian Toastess. ( I believe Toastess was a Canadian company). Wonder if Tina had one of those?: Toaster Central
