Journal Entry 1 by Zwackus from Ann Arbor, Michigan USA on Sunday, May 25, 2003
I got this book when I was reading up on modern military SF. I'd had an idea of trying to write something in the field, and figured that I should familiarize myself with what sold.

This was a readable book. Like the other works of Huff's that I've read, it is nothing spectacular, but has a solid narrative and well drawn characters. There's nothing particularly innovative or striking in this -- I did not leave the book thinking "Gee, that was a nifty idea" or anything. But it was a good way to burn a few hours. What can I say?

My First Release!

I'll leave this on the coffee table near the front door. I've spent MANY hours reading there, and believe that I may have read at least part of this book at that very spot. It seems only fitting.

Journal Entry 3 by AlbertCamus from Ann Arbor, Michigan USA on Friday, June 27, 2003
Found this book at Starbucks, where I work. I had heard of bookcrossing.com, so i figured I'd check it out and pass the book along. I'm not really into sci-fi, so I doubt I'll read the entire 400 pages. Expect it to be released into the wild in the next few days. If found, I'd at least recommend a decent skimming. Looks intense. Zwackus, I've probably served you coffee, or at least offended you in some way.

I left it behind a menu in the smoking section around lunchtime.

CAUGHT IN PORTLAND OREGON USA

Journal Entry 10 by Arcane-Serenity on Thursday, July 1, 2004
This is my first Book Crossing book. I found it in the laundry room of my building while waiting for my clothes to stop agitating. This book is now waiting to be read in The Commodore Apartment building.

Journal Entry 11 by Arcane-Serenity on Tuesday, November 16, 2004
I found this book engaging! I had never read a SciFi military novel before this one. It was a quick read because of all the action. The ending felt like I was missing something, as if it were an inside joke that I wasn't on the inside of. That would not detour me from reading it again, however, and I have already purchased the sequel.

There were a lot of sexual inuendos and cussing, which I enjoyed immensly. Tanya Huff is incredibly good at writing dialog between her characters and it was the dialog that was the meat of this book.
