Surprise!

This book was sent to you from another BookCrosser who thought that you would be interested in participating. You see, this book is on a very special mission trying to become one of the most travelled books. The catch is that instead of being sent on its own, it is hitching rides with other books and travelling around the world unasked for. As it is small, this book should not add very much weight when it is shipped with another book. If you are not interested in participating please contact Crossing-Guard. We do want this book to travel so please pass it on in some way.

Here is how it works:

-This book likes to travel with friends, please don't send it on its own. Simply send the book with another book going out on a ring/ray or random act of kindness. Again, it is a small book so shouldn't add much to your shipping costs.
-Try to send it with a different book than it came with. In your journal entry please mention what book you sent it out with. If you are not sending many books out it is fine to send it with the same book.
-Don't tell the person that you are sending it to them. This is meant to be a surprise. That means that a ring/ray should not be set up to help this book travel. Won't it be cool if this book becomes one of the most travelled books and it is never asked for?
-Actually read it. The book is really short and will take only a few minutes to read (be prepared that you will probably want some cookies afterwards).
-Send it as a controlled release. We do want this book to travel and wild releases often don't get found right away.
-Send it to a fellow BookCrosser who is active in the community and you think would be interested in participating. Chances are these people have many outgoing books and will send it along quickly.
-Please keep this book travelling. If you can pass it along within a month that would be great (sooner is even better)!

Thanks for participating in my little experiment. I am interested to see how far this book travels and whether or not it can make it make it onto the most travelled list!

Crossing-Guard

PS. Sorry for the weird shape of the book but I wanted it to fit in with a regular paperback.

I'm sending this book along with The Lost World by Arthur Conan Doyle. Hopefully this will be the start of a really long journey.

Fly, Fly away little book!

-Updated July 2009-

I started another ray like this one as a challenge to see which one moves the fastest. It is now on its way. Let's see which one travels farther and faster...

I love cookies, especially chocolate chip; thanks! This book looks a little like it was nibbled on by someone who was into straight lines, but it's still very readable, even those dangerous recipes in the back..

I've attached a photo of what the book originally looked like. This will probably go out with a RABCK soon.

Someone who (really, really) appreciates chocolate did indeed find this book safe and sound nestled with some cool books to read!

I am going to send it out to someone I love very dearly in the near future to keep sharing that cookie goodness!

Oh, what fun! I shall enjoy and pass it on when I've chosen a suitable travelling companion for it!
