Initally I really liked reading this novel. The author did a wonderful job of conveying everyone's feelings, grief and disappointments. However, by the middle of the book, each character had the same "voice" and the misery of the situation colored every scene. By that point I did not care if it would have a "happy ending", and I stopped reading.

Based on the description on the back of the book, this sounds like a book my boyfriend's mother would enjoy, except that she doesn't read. Alas.

This book enjoyed a brief stop in San Jose, CA before continuing its travels in the 'Books in Motion' bookbox.
