I really enjoyed this book although it was very similar in plot to Very Valentine which she wrote more recently.
Offered as a ray.
I've tried to do a controlled release 4 times and now I give up.
Sent to Svoight

The book is here! I'm looking forward to reading it and passing it on to the next person in line. Thanks for sharing MyssCyn!
My Review: I really enjoyed this book! The story goes back in time to New York City in the 1950's. Lucia Sartori's story is fascinating, she has to make such difficult decisions because of the time she lives. I just love this author! Every book I read is wonderful and different, her characters come alive and that is not an easy thing to do.
Favorite quotes from the book:
"The unhappy man finds compensation outside the home. He works, he lives in the world, he can find joy outside of himself. But a woman builds the home, and if she is unhappy there, she suffers and her children suffer."
"That's how it is when you get married, which is why I never will. What honest person could stand before a group of people and promise that in sickness (yech), poverty (they've got to be kidding), and whatever else comes down the pike that you would never leave? The wedding vows are a license to be a complete jerk, with full knowledge that the person you married has agreed no matter how large a horse's ass you are, to stay by your side until death. A fool could tell you this is a bad deal."
"There it is, the first sign of falling in love: the great longing that comes from even the slightest separation. When I look at him, I don't feel that I deserve him: rather that I aspire to him. This will be a love I will have to earn, but something tells me.....is worth it."
When I receive agrace's address I will mail it to her.

arrived today. Thanks! I'm looking forward to reading this!
Finished this last night.
At times I felt like I was reading "It's a Wonderful Life" and was waiting for the narrator to say, "By now you've probably figured out that Lucia never makes it off Commerce Street".
But it was an enjoyable book that gave an interesting look at the lives of women in the 50's.
Thanks for sharing.
I am at the end of the list...MyssCyn, what are your wishes for the book?
