What a fantastic read! I just love the way Gaiman manages to create a different world in each and everyone of his books. I really enjoyed the story and graveyard setting, and particularly liked the constant parallels/interactions between the living and the dead. I just loved it!
Thanks so much for sharing this hakkalina:o)
I already have Reetpetite's address and will send her the book today.

Thanks chich. Next on my TBR
This didn't seem like a Neil Gaiman book to me, I don't know why.
Perhaps it's because he's writing for children, trying to make some of it scary but not too scary & so it was not very exciting.
It was OK though and I thought it was sad at the end.
Check out the credits at the end for some serious name dropping!
Thanks for sharing hakkalina

Just to let you know, I have started on this book. Good so far. I have a lot of bookring books on the go at the moment! I am sorry for the hold up!
An excellent childrens book! I don't think as a teacher I would read it to a class because of the ghosts and some parents might not like it. I really enjoyed the book! The author ended the book in away then means he can continue writing more adventures for Bod. I hope he does.
I am not PM'ing the next person on the list! Thank you for sharing this book!

Just received this and I'm really excited to start, I shall send a PM to the next person straight away, so I have their address before I have read it, therefore I can send it away immediately after I've finished reading!
I am currently reading "The Awakening" by Kate Choppin, this is also in a bookring, but I'm really close to finishing, so shouldn't take me too long!

This book is really really good, and it has gotten me to realise that childhood is really really short, I'm now 16 (and a half) and Bod only turned 15 until he was called a young man... (I can't say much more or I shall spoil the book for the people who's next to read it). So I have learnt that I should enjoy as much as my time of my childhood, I have left! What annoyed me about this was the chapters being really long, like Chapter 7 that kept me up through the night until about 2am in the morning, but then again I should have started that chapter during the day! And also I hated the ending it just wasn't fulled with emotion, where were bod's thoughts? What did he feel? That was all missing at the end, but otherwise a really good book! I never got a reply from ArabellaFigg, so I shall try again! And send out sometime soon!

I really enjoyed this book, and struggled to put it down, although I wasn't completely satisfied by the ending. Despite it being called a 'children's book', I think it is one of my favourites by Gaiman.
I have sent a pm to chas04 and will post this book on as soon as.

Gratefully received by post today from chas04: thanks! Hoping this will be more in the style of Coraline than American Gods.
Journal Entry 21 by ARTurner from Coventry, West Midlands United Kingdom on Friday, October 16, 2009
Terrific story, but could have benefited from being a little shorter. I found the credits at the end interesting, especially to find out that some chapters had been based on earlier writings. Not as sinister as Coraline, and structured much more like a grown-up novel.
Anyway, I would have given it 8 stars, but nearly everyone else did, so I went for 7!

Another great book by Neil Gaiman. I think this is suitable for older children or adults, very imaginative writing but not too frightening with rather a sad ending.
I will get this off to Ana-b as soon as she gives me her address.

Safely received, along with lots of goodies, thank you so much Caramae! I'm not sure which to devour first, the book or the chocolate ;)
Loved it. Silas rocks, I might have a small crush on him. I was quite surprised at the fairly shocking beginning, for a kids book it's really scary.
I've PM'd the next in line a couple of days ago but not had a response yet. Will send asap.

Just got back from home (down south) didn't realise I'd be there that long or be without internet. I've got another ring book to read before this one but should get to it soon!
This was an interesting book. Slightly creepy for a children's book but I did enjoy the story and thought it was very well written. A very enjoyable read for getting me out of my reading slump after dissertation work! Thank you for sharing!
Mafarrimond has a copy of the book and so asked to be skipped have PMed Gwenindil for her address.
