Thanks to chucklesthescot for sending me this as part of a trade. I read Good in Bed a while ago and have been looking out for more by this author.

I read Good in Bed by Jennifer Weiner several years ago and am expecting another of her books any day now as part of a spiral.
Kate Klein moves from New York to Upchurch, a suburb where the Mommies make the Stepford Wives look positively slovenly. She has yet to make any friends when Kitty Cavanagh, the most human of the woman, invites her for lunch. This takes her by surprise but she accepts.
She never does get to have lunch though as on arriving at Kitty's house she finds her body. The telephone number of Evan McKenna, a former crush of Kate is by the telephone.
Bored with her life and convinced the police aren't doing enough Kate decides to do some detective work of her own, discovering that everything in Upchurch is not as perfect as it seems.
I really enjoyed this and recommend it to lovers of both chick-lit and detective fiction.
