As I'm clearing my flat ahead of moving I'm adding a lot of my books to the Bookcrossing pile. This is one of them. Hope I get chance to read it before I have to move!

I enjoyed this book very much as I liked the main character and the writing was excellent. I felt a certain amount of dislike for many of the characters and their way of life and wasn't always sure I was being invited to dislike them as much as I did. Hopefully I'm not giving away too much here when I say that I felt vindicated by the end and the conclusion of the novel is really beautiful.

It's funny to think that this won the Booker. I wish such good, readable and worthwhile things still won the Booker these days!
