Part of a haul of books I picked up at Goodwill or a Friends of the Library sale to register on BookCrossing and wild release. I chose this one because it is either one I am interested in reading or one that will work well for a BookCrossing Release Challenge or because I know it's a book that someone in general would probably like to find and read. I'd read it a while back and liked the series for a light read.

Had to chuckle at the notion of someone going outside to watch the hurricane arrive. Yeah. Right. But I did like the eventual nasty scheme that the murder victim was concocting prior to getting himself offed. Several nice touches in the story make me think that if I see another of this author's books at Goodwill, I'd probably pick it up.

FROM THE PUBLISHER
Winner of the St. Martin's Malice Domestic Award in 1997 for her first work Murder With Peacocks, Donna Andrews brings back her zany characters and disastrous events.

In an attempt to get away from her family, Meg and her boyfriend go to a tiny island off the coast of Maine. What could have been a romantic getaway slowly turns into disaster.

Once there, they are marooned by a hurricane and that is only the beginning of their problems. Meg and her boyfriend arrive at the house only to discover that Meg's parents and siblings, along with their spouses are all there. When a murder takes place, Meg realizes that she and her boyfriend can no longer sit by a cozy fireplace, but must instead tramp around the muddy island to keep try and clear her father who is the chief suspect.

This book was one in bumma's possession as she started her final journey home. She no longer has the strength to read or to be read to.) Her daughter, bookczuk, is helping her to release any BookCrossing books so they might continue their journey and wrote this note in bumma's name. This was by her bedside. She'd gotten to page 104, but had undoubtedly read the ending already to make sure it pleased her. :)
