I read this book many, many years ago, well before it was ever on the TV.I thoroughly enjoyed it. The original copy was lost over time and this copy was bought for me as part of my Christmas present from my very thouhtful daughter. I read it again in a couple of days, and it had not lost it's appeal, a thoroughly good read---although somewhat dated now.
