I haven't read this yet, but I read this author's "Survivor" and LOVED IT.

Here is the:
Amazon Editorial Review:
She's a fashion model who has everything: a boyfriend, a career, a loyal best friend. But when a sudden freeway "accident" leaves her disfigured and incapable of speech, she is transformed from the beautiful center of attention to an invisible monster, so hideous that no one will acknowledge she exists. Enter Brandy Alexander, Queen Supreme, one operation away from becoming a real woman, who will teach her that reinventing yourself means erasing your past and making up something better. And that salvation hides in the last places you'll ever want to look.

Since I haven't read it yet, I'm offering it up as a bookring. Poor little books sit around too long with no one reading them.

I received this book with this morning's mail. It looks like it had a bit of a rough transit, but thankfully sustained no major damage.

I just finished reading Palahniuk's Choke. I rather enjoyed it, though I'm not sure how I'll handle two of his books in a row. I guess there's only one way to find out.

More to come, soon...

Journal Entry 8 by snarkhunting from Quincy, Massachusetts USA on Wednesday, April 1, 2009
Haven't finished this one, yet. (I'm hoping to do that tonight.) But I have sent a PM along to the next participant. Look for my review and release notes soon!

(4-14-09) I'm afraid I wasn't able to finish reading this one. I started out feeling indifferent towards the main character/narrator, and decided to call it quits when, 100 pages later, my feelings hadn't changed.

I'd have a few other comments to add, though I worry about spoiling the book for the remaning participants. I'll keep those thoughts to myself. :)

I'll see about finding another copy and giving this book another try sometime soon. But anyway, thank you for the opportunity to read it!

Hope you all enjoy it.

The book is here! Thanks Allthesepieces for sending it so quickly! It actually arrived a few days ago, I'm told, but of course I was just notified of its presence! (Life with teenagers!) I am finishing up another bookring book, and will start this asap!!!

Journal Entry 11 by kitiarablue from Jersey City, New Jersey USA on Monday, May 11, 2009
I enjoyed this book almost as much as I did Choke and Fight Club (my favorites), and much more than Survivor and Diary. I could go more into detail, but since our host has yet to read the book, I will just say that I hope she enjoys it as much as I did... and thank you for sharing!

Book arrived today - extremely quickly! Going on to Mt TBR. Have a couple of 'rays/rings before this one but I'm sure I'll be able to send this one out before the end of June.

Thanks for sharing.

Typical Palahniuk weird literature, readible but very, very strange. It reminds me in a way of one of his other novels "Haunted" which also deals with fame, how to be famous and how to be anonymous.

Badly put but I don't want to say too much as it might spoil it for someone else. Thanks for sharing. I'll PM sarkiegirl to find out if the ring should continue or if the book should return home.
