Thanks so much estherase, I'm looking forward to another dry dose of Bryson's humour. Looks like a good contender for holiday reading so it may get left on a Small Island in Greece sometime in July! Thanks again :)

I really enjoy Bryson's ascerbic yet loving views on other countries and it's even more wonderful to read them when travelling. He might even have managed to make me see the British culture in a strange new and appreciative light.

Release planned for Wednesday, July 09, 2003 at Temple of Apollo ruins in Naxos, Cyclades Greece.

I will leave this book under the arch on the Temple ruins before I board the ferry to Koufanissia tomorrow. This spot is crying out for a release and I just wish I had a digital camera to capture the moment with.

Read by wife and husband. Excellent book, very funny and have taken notes from the book to visit some of the places described. It was read in public places and yes both of us emitted loud snorts.
The book will be passed on through our family in OZ and placed back "in the wild" somewhere in Australia.

The book was picked up on some island in Greece which my brother visited in 2003. He then brought it back to Adelaide where my parents enjoyed reading it (see "Crooswyk"). My husband and I brought it back to Canberra (Beautiful Capital of Australia) and will release it at the local Youth Hostel at Easter 2004. Great book, thanks for sharing it. Happy travelling my friend. ME

I already commented on this book as an anonymous finder, but have now registered and wanted to let you know that I left it on Koh Phangan, Thailand!

I really LOVE Bill Bryson - I already read other books in it's german translations. They are so funny and amusing! This one also is wonderful, but --for me-- too difficult to read (cause in english).

I picked it up in a beautiful resort on Koh Phangan last September (2004). I now will give it to a colleague of mine, who worked in London for a while. I'm sure he will enjoooooy it!

Unfortunately the book was in poor condition when I got it. I tried my best to fix this problem...

Greetings from Mainz, Germany.
