The Bookman''s Wake (Cliff Janeway Novels)
2 journalers for this copy...
The cover artwork is different than shown! This has a red raven on the cover, instead of an open book!
I may have tried it a year or two back, but I'm not sure, so I'll read and see if it seems familiar!

Ex cop & book dealer/rare book collector, Cliff Janeway is now a part time bounty hunter! He is headed to Seattle, Washington to catch a bail jumper! While there, Cliff hears about an original bopy of E.A.Poe's "The Raven"! Now he's hunting for two different things at the same time! A great chase and hunr ensues! Will Cliff catch either prize? Happy hunting, Cliff!!
John Dunning taught me how important a peivate book printer is in the book world! How they can make each copy unique and each run of books different, so that they are more valuable than any other copies of that book are! so much so that rare book hunters look for classic books that are printed by small, private printing presses! In this Janeway mystery, brothers Richard and Darryl Grayson run a small printing press and they even cast their own letters, so that no other printer can have the same style & shape, decide how much ink to use, just by the width of the metal cast letters! This is what makes their books so valuable! Other collectors are hunting for this same book and a few murders happen and Cliff Janeway dodges some bullets, but gets a few smacks & cracks on the body! A very good read, that I reccomend !!

I picked this up at the July meet-up of VC BCers. I've been looking to read this series for a while, so I'll put this on the TBR pile.
I tried to read this for 2 months, I really did, but I could never get past the first 75 pages. I really wanted to like this book too, as it came recommended to me by several BCers, but I'm giving up on it until I've read this first book in the series. Maybe then I'll revisit this one.

I left this on the red bench outside the cafe in honor of World Book Night. This wasn't on the list, but I figure it fit the spirit of the activity.
