I most admire the Trapp Family faith and that God always provided whatever they needed. I have seen the Sound of Music many times and enjoyed learning about their life in the US. I have already pm'd Azuki for an address and will get this moving again soon.

Book is here! So excited. I've loved the movie as a kid and when I travelled to Austria the Sound of Music tour was a highlight.
Perfect timing, I just finished reading a book so I can start on this right away.

Really glad to read this book and get the real story straight, as well as learning what happened after they escaped. Real life is not as dramatic, of course, but makes for a more rational plot. Financial situation necessitated the family to perform, otherwise in those days a man of Baron Von Trapp's status would hardly allowed his wife and children to perform in public.
It was funny too how Maria's accidental blurb ended up having the whole family detained at immigration. Something does not change over the years!

This Bookray Book arrived two days ago on 9/25...the same day as another one I signed up for months apart, so it may take me a couple of weeks to get to the two of them read. ...what a GREAT IDEA to include a sticky note as a reminder that the book is a Bookray Book. I will never understand how even though I strategically space out the things I do decide to participate in, they all decide to arrive at the same time, or within a few days of each other, and yet the number of participants even varies...GO FIGURE!!! ; D Looking forward to reading this in continued celebration of your 11th BOOKIVERSARY, Bookworm-lady...THANKS for including me!!! : D

I just received this book in the mail and am looking forward to reading it. The Sound of Music movie has always been one of my favorites. It will be interesting to read the true story behind it. Thanks for including me in your bookray bookwork lady!
This was a very interesting book. I learned a lot more about the family than I learned from watching the movie (which wasn't completely accurate)! It was well worth the read. I am sending it off today to iwillrejoice. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
