After MZB died, her protege Diana Paxson took up the reins of the Avalon series with this book, which attempts to link The Fall of Atlantis more concretely with the order of priestesses with which readers of the original, Mists of Avalon, are familiar.

Each successive volume loses more and more of the original's magic, in my opinion, and this one suffers especially from the jarring transition from MZB's voice to that of Paxson. Nothing about this grabbed me.

Will release once I finish the other prequels.
