The Tales of Beedle the Bard contains five richly diverse fairy tales each with it's own magincal character, that will variously bring delight, laughter and the thrill of mortal peril.

Additional notes for each story penned by Professor Albus Dumbledore will be enjoyed by Muggles and wizards alike, as the Professor muses on the morals illuminated by the tales, and reveals snippets of information about life at Hogwarts.

I received this at the p.o. yesterday and finished it before I had arrived home! I've always been a sucker for fairy tales, and this was no different; I really enjoyed reading through, gleaning my own morals of the story and then reading Dumbledore's notes. JK Rowlings footnotes on Dumbledore's notes were really enjoyable and amusing -- I loved when she wrote "such as myself," since Dumbledore was so humble that he'd never verbally admit to including himself as one of the best wizards of all time, but he was obviously doing so either consciously or unconsciously as he wrote. Anyway, an enjoyable extra to the Harry Potter series, though it doesn't quite make me stop wishing that there were an eighth (and ninth, and tenth...) book in the series. Also, thank you so much for the postcard and bookmark -- they make me want to visit Scotland someday very soon!
