I enjoyed this book even more the second time I read it. Because I knew the story, I was able pay more attention to the author's use of language. She is adept at using physical descriptions to communicate feelings, and liberally employs onomatopoeia, repetition, and capitalization (to emphasize Very Important Concepts). Some people may find her style distracting, but I fell in love with it.
"Both she and he knew that there are things that can be forgotten. And things that cannot - that sit on dusty shelves like stuffed birds with baleful, sideways-staring eyes."

Thank-you c-b-l: I have heard a lot of good about this book and am really looking forward to it... will probably be shuffled up the embarrassingly large to-be-read pile...
Beautiful. This was beautiful. I'm going to hang on to it fot a while as I think I will want to reread it soon: hope that's OK with you, C-B-L? It'll be on the move again eventually, promise...
Managed to get a second copy, so this will now move on...
