Picked up 5 mins ago at OBCZ Todmorden train station. Picked out purely because its set in Leeds

As noted above, I picked this out purely because it was set in Leeds and to be honest, that was about the only interesting thing about it. It was fun to read the familiar names of streets in Leeds and Headingley and therefore to be able to visualise the characters on their way about but to say this is an award winner (what is the CWA Diamond Dagger Award anyway?), has 40 previous novels listed in the front and is bigged up as "A Novel of Suspense", it really wasn't.

I found it positively bizarre the way incest just crept it, no hints, no suspiscious circumstances, certainly no suspense just "BAM, let's throw it on in there!". There were other similar examples (but they were pretty uninteresting so I don't remember them) of where the author just seemed to decide, with little or no forethought, to take the book in a new direction.

All in all, a disappointment!
