A very good read, this was one of Richard and Judy's recommendations for summer.

Thanks for introducing me to this book, Lusks, I really enjoyed it!
A fascinating exploration of how a lie can tear a family apart, and have echoes through the years. I liked too the way the narrative focus switched between the characters (all except Phoebe, of course - although she was at the centre of the story, her thoughts and feelings were never revealed to us. But that kind of worked too, having her as the silent focus of events.) And it was just a great page-turner.

How odd, I was so sure that I had journalled this book when I picked it up. Found out today that I didn't, ooops.
Well I have read it, starting some time ago, and finished the last few pages on the bus on my way into town on Thursday night.
So sad that David felt he had to give her away because of her health but he didn't want her to grow up as his sister had, most likely as he couldn't handle that, rather than his family.
That secret slowly tore his family apart, how different their lives would have been if he hadn't made that decision.
A wonderful read, and I'm sure the book can easily find another reader.

Picked up at tonight's farewell to Lytteltonwitch. Have heard good things about this book. Looking forward to reading it.
Grabbed from Cathietay's TBR pile. The writing is good, I just had a feeling that I had read it before and that carried throughout the book. Not really my type of book.
