I had high hopes for this book, and it was good, but not as wonderful as I had anticipated.

"Caught" the book in a trade with a BookCrossing member. Can't wait to read it! When I'm finished I'll probably add it to my stack o' books to "get rid of" (preferably to other readers!).

I'm the AnonymousFinder who already left a journal entry for this book. Nothing has changed, except that I joined BookCrossing. This book is still in my TBR pile (mountain!), but as above, when I finish it it will be available for trade.
I really enjoyed reading this novel. I felt as if I were right there with the village's resident characters, seeing events unfold through Anna's eyes. The ending, while unusual, was not out of character for either the minister or Anna, which pleased me. Now I want to re-read a similarly-themed novel, _A Parcel of Patterns_ by Jill Paton Walsh. I'll be sending this off to a fellow BookCrosser on Saturday or Monday (it's Friday evening).
It appears as if I forgot to make a journal entry for this book which was done as an exchange with another Book-Crosser!
(Sorry, Tesslouise!)
I am ready to release this book into the wild. I'm glad I read it, but I can't say it will stay in my memory as a favorite. I found it an interesting portrayal of what could have occured duing the plague years. What I will remember is how disheartened I felt when the church rector's true character was unveiled.
