This was about an interesting and very important topic- the prevalence of an absurd level of parenting perfectionism among yuppies. A lot of the discussion was interesting, but the arguments seemed poorly organized and the whole effort a bit scattered, such that I came to the end of the book, still not really clear on what exactly the author was trying to say. (I think it was that the problem is societal, that we don't support families enough- but I'm not positive, and I'm also not sure that the author drew any logical connection between an obsessive parenting style and a lack of supports.)
Interesting read, but it seemed like a draft to me- a set of notes that still needed to be assembled in logical order and checked for coherence against an overarching thesis.
