Got this via BookMooch. I'm already curious... Ben Elton has never been a disappointment so far. ;)

Hm. I kind of like the story (or what there is of one) so far, but even around page 100 new characters keep turning up all the time. Besides, there are a lot of bad typos in this edition. "Tommorow" may happen once with nobody noticing, but "defeatest"? "Fawcet"? Hello??
I wonder how long I'll be able to read on... Maybe my curiosity will win, though.

I've caught myself reading other (more interesting) books in between, while this one was lying on my bedside table, badly neglected.
I guess I was telling myself I just don't want to bother with it anymore. I read the last paragraph and decided, okay, so that's that, and I don't really care about the second half of the book leading up to that ending anyway.
This has never happened to me with a book by Ben Elton so far, but then there's a first time for everything.
Besides, I've read several of his later books and liked them much more (so maybe I'm just a bit spoiled by now). If you like the science-fictiony touch of this book but want something better, try Blind Faith by the same author. ;)
I'll ask Secundus, my fellow Elton reader, whether he wants to read this book. If he doesn't, I'll wild release it or put it back on BookMooch.
