Update 8 April 2009: WOW... just finished reading this book... it was fascinating and and powerful and heart-wreching and disturbing and inspiring and maybe depressing all at the same time. This is the story of the author's battle with alcoholism. Burroughs is a great story-teller and the story was so compelling that I didn't want to put it down at times. I had/have a hard time understanding why he'd want to "bare his sole" to the world like this. I feel like I know him intimately.... I'd like to meet him in person. But it would be weird to know so much about him and have him know nothing about me...
