This came in the mail today... can't wait to read it! Thanks again ShadowPi. :-)
This was an incredibly hard book to get into. In fact, I set it down a few times to take a break and enjoy some easier reading. But, I always felt compelled to pick it back up again, and I'm very glad now that I did. The book was divided into about three parts, and by the second part I was already finding the reading much easier and the story more compelling. I think the trouble to begin with was due to the dialect and slang - I had no idea what half the words meant!
This is a very scary book, in that it seems like our world is moving more and more quickly towards the future portrayed by Anthony Burgess. It also raises the disturbing idea of creating a safe future for the general public at the expense of the free will of a few. Without free will, would a person's life really be worth living?
I think this is a book I would like to pick up in the future to see how my interpretation of it changes with time. I'm very glad I read it.

*sigh* This book was taken out of the bookbox, which unfortunately never did get off the ground due to problems with mailing restrictions. Sorry, little book. I will try to find it a good home!
Thanks appaloosatb! I just got this book in the mail. I can't wait to read it.
Phew! I finished this book today (August 2). I have to agree with Appa about the slang in the beginning of the book, it was hard to get into and was about ready just to send it off. However, after trying to continue on, I began to enjoy it. This was a very different book for me to read and I'm glad I had. I heard that there was a movie also with this book, so I'll hopefully get to see it soon, if I get around to renting it.Thanks Appa for sending this my way! Now it'll be off to Karendawn soon from the Raiding Bookshelves swap! Hope you enjoy this book. :-)
The book arrived today. Thank you very much for sending it!
UPDATE July 6, 2006: Although I think this would be a good book, my TBR stack is overwhelming me, so I must start cutting it down a bit. So this book has been cut. :(
