Journal Entry 3 by Dayglozine from Greymouth, West Coast New Zealand on Monday, January 12, 2009
This paperback is aimed at the 12 years and under age group, although the characters don't ever come across as more than two-dimensional, including the young heroine, 12-year old Frances. Although the blurb on the back cover promises more than the book delivers there is an acceptable level of mystery and intrigue that should capture the attention of the younger reader. From the dustjacket - "When her aunt marries the forbidding Mr Tyrell, Frances is introduced to the mysterious temple, with its strange, fanatical beliefs. At first she trustingly accepts her aunt's new life and tries to be a 'worthy' member of the temple. But as she uncovers its sinister secrets she realises she has to escape."

Found this book sitting in a cafe in Greymouth one cold, rainy day. My mates and I had popped in for brekkie on our way to the Monteith's Brewery.
