A family living on a lonely hill. One family adopts a 'wicked' boy, Heathcliff, who later falls in love with the daughter, Catherine. Much drama and death follows. I never liked it much, but it's a very famous book and there is a lot in it to enjoy.

This is a simplified edition, from the Young Blackbirds series we could buy in high school.

It has just arrived! I heard something falling into my mailbox and had this feeling that Catherine and Heathcliff had just entered my humble home :P

Thank you once again Dauw! I'll make another journal entry as soon as I finish up my reading (which, I guess, will be soon :D).

Journal Entry 4 by Libera13 at RABCK, A RABCK -- Controlled Releases on Sunday, September 26, 2010
I've finished it last night and I just loved it! It's amazing how Brontë could describe the characters in one way, and later on deepen their personalities and change my opinions about them. I particularly love the characters of Heathcliff and Catherine, with who I sympathized very much, and hated once in a while. The love story is incredible and, though it's full of grief, it's human in all it's aspects - all the characters are good and bad, and that's something I appreciate (the fact that they're "real", I mean). Thanks again, Dauw, for the RABCK - it was really worth reading :)

I'm really intrigued to read this - I could never get along with the 'full' Wuthering Heights, so it'll be good to give this bash :)

Just received this today from Bellivas as part of the Bookring.

I too couldn't get into the full version despite really wanting to!! It is such a classic story so I am looking forward to it. I have another book on the go at the minute but as soon as thats done I will read and pass on.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

Whilst I really enjoyed this book, for me it was a little too simplified. I found the real version too complex so I guess I will just never be happy! The story is enjoyable and the characters were engaging.

I have released this book to marijketje, in the Netherlands, as part of the Bookring.

Safe travels little book!

Thank you Taffy1981 for sending the book to me. And thank you for the lovely card and the BookMooch idea, I'll certainly try it!

I found it a quite depressing book and it was a little confusing with certain characters having the same name. But I like that I got the change to finally read this classic.
