I loved this book as a child, but was a bit shocked when I read it now. I don't know how I was able to read about the horribly racist way in which the Garber's neighbours treated them when I was a child, especially when I'd never seen any racism in the flesh. This book is a little dated but I'm sure other kids will love it like I did. It doesn't have the same affect on me now as it did when I was a child, so I'm going to find a new home for this book to free up some space on my bookshelves! This book has a different cover as it was published in 1988. Available on here, ReaditSwapit and BookMooch.

Changed my mind - although this book has a BC ID I've decided to keep it in my permanent collection for now.
