The author quite obviously had fun writing this copious collection of poems, spinning out exuberant rhymes and puns, on at least a couple of occasions writing blatantly sexual verses that turn out to be about something else. The serious poems are clichéed, the silly poems are very silly (and clichéed). Oh well, maybe someone else will like it better than I do.
What a nice surprise to find a book package in my mailbox today! While poetry is usually not my thing, I think I will give this book a try. Just thumbing through, I read "Dear Greg Lardner." It made me want to read more. Thanks again, Vasha, for sharing your books.

As I said before, poetry is not my thing. As Vasha said, I think the author enjoyed writing these but I didn't find them overly interesting. I did like some of the word play like the following:
FASHION STATEMENT
In far away Frankfurt,
fashion fascinates fanatic
flashy Fascist females in
fancy full-flared flax and felt.
Striped skirts sewn with scarlet
swastikas on silken seams seduce
sexy stylish singers to swoon
over shaggy cerise satin socks.
Frilly fur frocks physically fit,
but for fat Fraeuleins, the Fuehrer
favors flimsy flowered flannel.
I'm reserving this book to send to Unwrittenlibra in a Secret Angel Exchange package.

I put this book in the mail today for the secret angel exchange.
Arrived today, on the 4th night of Hanukkah, along with a package of other goodies from my secret angel for 2010, the fabulous southernfryed! Like her, I thumbed through it today and it looks quite cute. Thank you!
Released in a Little Free Library in Madison, WI.
