This is a vivid, moving and absorbing book,I would highly recommend it. The pictures it painted in my mind will stay with me a long time,the beautiful island of Crete, its people and it also gave me an understanding of the devistation that leprosy caused and is still causing in some parts of the world. I love Crete but have never visited the area described in the book, I intend to visit the island of Spinalonga in the not too distant future!
