'Lisey's story' is ultimately a tale about the relationship between novelist Scott Langdon and his wife Lisey. Together for over 25 years with no children their marriage has always seemed to be just about the two of them. But behind this marriage there are other issues; memories and moments which have played a part in making their relationship such a truly unique one, and as the reader learns about their past it slowly moves to collide with the present. There are many sub-plots within Lisey's story, some of which are hinted at towards the start but only reveal themselves deep within the book. Combined together they form a magical story of love and terror, and of magic and mystery.
