Went on a book-buying spree at the main Goodwill store in Toronto today, and picked this one up. I loved The Bonesetter's Daughter, so I thought I'd give this one a whirl.
I finished this book a week or so ago. I enjoyed it very much. Very clever.

Picked this up today at the bookcrossing meetup and hope to read it soon.
I really enjoyed this book. Amy Tan is a great storyteller and I'm glad I picked this one up. I'm releasing it tonight at the Organic Buddha at bookcrossing meetup.
Picked this up at the meet up. Looking forward to reading it.
Really enjoyed this book - very interesting story. Will take it to the Toronto meetup this week.
This was among the leftovers at tonight's Toronto meetup, so it's back with me. I picked it up to re-release it. We'll see where it ends up.
Found at BookCrossing Convention 2004, on the book exchange table at the Holiday Inn. I haven't read any books by Amy Tan, and I want to see what her writing is like.
Can you be entranced by a book, and hate the main character? I'm less than a hundred pages into the book, and while I can't wait to see what happens next, I really really do not like the narrator, who is the main character.
However, by the end of the book, she changes! Yay! I'm not sure that the change is believable, but, it's interesting to read. What was more interesting to me was the blending of the plot lines from two different times, present day and a historical day.
I need to decide where to release this...

Mailed to Brendalc57, along with "Geisha, A life" that she requested.
Thank you Marigoldgirl...just received today and will put on my TBR. Thanks for the nice card.
Just finished this book. I really like it as most of Amy Tans book she keeps you in there with the book's spin on the lives of two sisters who are so different and yet they are united by love. I really liked it. It is ready for someone else to read.
This just arrived in my mail! Thanks a lot, Brendalc57! I have heard so much about Amy Tan, yet have never read any of her books! I look forward to this one!
