I purchased this from A Peek in the Attic (thrift shop) in San Luis Obispo today.

I am remembering that I read this - another copy - several years ago, pre-bookcrossing. I don't know where that other copy of the book is. I may have loaned or given it to someone.

I remember it is about a tormented soul who somehow finds a kind of redemption. I do not remember details. I thought it was pretty good, as I recall. It's too bad I do not have any notes about it.

Almost a year after receiving this from jlautner (thanks again!) I have finished this. Because of my busy work schedule, it's taken me over 2 months to read it.

This book, overall, was so sad. I had trouble wondering where the author was going with it at times. Anne Tyler remains one of my favorite authors, but this particular book is definitely not at the top of my favorites.

I will try to pass this on to another BCer.
