This is going to be a ray or ring.

The publisher had this to say about it:

"In Anne Bartlett's engaging novel, a chance meeting sparks a friendship between two very different women who share a fascination with knitting. Sandra, a rigid academic, struggles to navigate the world without her husband, whom she has recently lost to cancer. Martha—a self-taught textile artist with her own secret store of grief—spends her days knitting elaborate projects charged with personal meaning. As the two women collaborate on a new project, surprising events will help heal them both.". Schijnt een beetje "made for TV"-achtig te zijn, maar ik vond het eerste hoofdstuk goed te lezen.

I thought it was nice, but not nice enough... Guess I like the act of knitting better in its actuality than reading about it (even though this book is probably more about friendship & bereavement).

The book arrived safely. A nice book for my daily train journeys. Thanks Jonna for sending it.

Well, I agree with Jonna. It was nice, but not nice enough. There were too many improbabilities, weird turns and one dimensionaly portrayed people. Back to knitting myself!

I'll send the book to Afineke.

Just received the book from Yvonne P. Thanks for sending it to me. Can't hardly wait to begin but have to finish a translation job first. I can tell more when I have read the book. Seems like an easy read.

This book was not so good.... I liked the idea of a book about knitting but found that there were big holes in it, no clear pattern, single strands that did not come together. The characters are flat, stereotypes. This is a first novel with many flaws.
I do hope the next reader in the bookring will like it more!

mwah, the book could have been better. The theme was interesting, but not very well presented. Pity.

Received this in the mail yesterday. Thanks for sharing JonnaL and thank you Boekie for sending it. I love the postcard you added! I have one other book to finish before I can start on this one.

JonnaL, do you want to have this book back home with you or can I ray it forward?

Finished this book over the weekend. Like the story, but did not like Sandra. I know she has been through a lot, but she seems to be quite an egoist!
Will PM gabrielereads for her address and mail it on!
