Hello! Just checking in to let you know that we found this book on the bookcrossing shelf at the Natural History Museum....when we were there in September. My daughter is looking forward to reading it and is so pleased to have found it there. Thank you for sharing it.
It was an adventure looking for that shelf. We asked a few people working there and then finally someone knew where it was. So excited to pick this up!!

This was a quick read. I was interested to read about the author and found out that when the war broke out she too went to live with her aunt in the country, a little like the children in this book.

I think this is a first for me - adding a JE for a RABCK after I've read it! I was so excited to read a Nina Bawden book after so many years that I read it over the weekend. I'm sure I read Carrie's War when I was younger so this brought back some good memories. The mystery was intriguing and the character of Ben made me laugh with his innocence, but wanting to sound so mature too.
