I found the book on a shelf at Quack's in Austin. It traveled back to Michigan with me, and I will either find a known place to release it in Grand Rapids, or I will start a new custom at some other place. I will update the journal when I finish reading the book.

Update: If you like light mysteries, this one should appeal to you. Fairly clever in its original form, the loving update by Benjamin Hoff makes it a smooth read. It sat for a while on a shelf in Austin, so I feel sorry for both the book and the people who picked it up and dropped it again because it was a Hardy Boys mystery. Don't let this become an orphan once I let it go, please.

RELEASE NOTES:

It's time to let go! This book introduced me to BookCrossing, so I am sentimental about it, but I have read it twice, and someone else should get the chance to read this updated Hardy Boys mystery. It's enjoyable, so don't turn up your nose at it! :) It's at Caribou Coffee in St. Cloud, MN, by the fireplace.

Added bonus: the book comes with a receipt from the Magnolia Cafe in Austin, Texas, on 12/6/2002. I don't know who owned the book before I got it, but the receipt is part of the package.

I claimed this book at Meetup yesterday. I shelved so many Hardy Boys mysteries at the library this summer that I felt I owed it to Dixon to read a mystery of his, even if it is a revised version by a completely different author. But it is, essentially, a Dixon story, though. Don't you think?

I will try to read this in time for our next meetup. No promises, though.

I am swimming in TBR books, and I know that I will not get to this in the next decade. It's selfish just to hold on to it, so off it goes . . .

Czersk couldn't fit the book into her reading schedule, so I reclaimed it as a sentimental symbol of my introduction to BookCrossing. Maybe I'll try to find it another home later, but I may just tuck it away for a long time.
