Picked this up for cheap at the Exclusive Books sale. Looks good. I feel like i may have read something else by this author before.... can't remember.

From the back: "Haunting and sexy, 'The Ice Queen' is a fairy tale for grown ups whicvh brings together, as only Hoffman can, the fabulous and the real, chaos theory and the irrational everyday moment, seduction and danger. As every fairy tale should, it starts with a little girl who makes a wish one snowy night and ruins her life. Be careful what you wish for..."

Will get to it soon

This was an okay book really. The subjects of the majority of the story was interesting--- lightening strike victims and survivors--- and there were some really interesting ways of dealing with obsession, lonliness, self-destruction and sabotage, etc... I feel like this book was missing... something. I am not sure what to be frank. But i feel like it could ahve been amazing, when it was just good. Maybe a bit more magic--- the theme of fairy tales was weaved throughout, but the magic wasn't translated. Perhaps it is just a preference, but i think if you have a window in which to inject a little surrealism, why would you not? :) Anyway, not a bad read, and will look for more books from this author.
