I just finished reading this book, and I really enjoyed it! It's the first book I've had the chance to "read for fun" for quite a while. This was very interesting and enlightening. On a personal note, it was also pretty validating: once upon a time I was engaged to a man who announced to me that he was gender dysphoric. It's nice to know I'm not alone in having experienced that!
This book is, right this moment, in the mail on its way to someone else who had it on her wishlist, too **grin**

Thanks for sharing this as part of the Halloween Exchange. I'm very interested in gender identity and this book looks quite fascinating.
I loaned this book to my mother while she was visiting and she really enjoyed reading it and told me I should read it soon. I'm now even more interested in reading this one.
I enjoyed this story, but found the book ultimately unsatisfying. The author wanted to write about a male-to-female transition and threw in some complications to carry the story. When focused on the transition, the surgery, the feelings of the character, the book glowed. But when the focus shifted to any other characters, to more complicated feelings and relationships, the book dimmed and crumpled.
Also, I think the book created too much confusion about partner preferences (i.e., I'd like my partner to be male) vs. personal gender identity (i.e., I feel myself to be female). Not that I'm an expert on these topics, but I did not feel that the book handled these issues smoothly. The ending was a disappointment to me.
