This book has been on my Amazon wishlist for quite some time so I was very pleased to discover it in a bookbox.

Fantastic Book! This story is of a young white girl in the 60's trying to let go of guilt and anger and learn to love and (bee) loved. The story telling is smooth and engaging. You feel for Lilly and want to hold her in your arms. Truley amazing. I wish I had someone like August Boatwright in my world. I also wonder what my children will read as classics in school and I really believe this one should be included. It deals with race and equality struggles as well as woman's issues in a frank manner from a white girl's view. I can't say how much I loved this book. I really enjoyed the bee keeping parts of the story, too. The little bugs were a mirror to the plot.
