An unusual, lyrical love story - beautifully written and thoroughly compelling. Haunted by an unspoken passion, a narrator decides to write some pages, pages comprising the story of the beginning, the blossoming, and finally the ending of a young woman's most intense love affair. 'Each day a page, to show you that I am finding a story, the story of how we might have been together, once. Of how we could be.' An unformed, innocent student in her first semester at university, Flannery Jansen initially encounters her lover in a local diner. But her tentative overtures - a look, a blush - are dismissed and Flannery retreats, humiliated. Future chance meetings on campus discourage Flannery even more, for Anne Arden is sophisticated and poised; in Flannery's eyes almost impossibly beautiful. Until she realises that Anne feels the same way about her.

I'm sending this as a RABCK to a bookcrosser who's interested in LGB lit.
The deepest of apologies for such a long delay in journalling...I'm clearing my backlog of JE's and also looking through each book to check if it's been journalled, and looks like this one missed on being journalled. I remember receiving it long ago, but by the release date it seems like it must've arrived while I was busy with my sister's wedding, and therefore must have been put away to be journalled later, but I must have forgotten. It was very kind of you to send me a book with an LGBT theme, I'm very keenly interested in this area and always on the lookout for relevant literature. Looking forward to reading it, and also hoping my apology is accepted by you!
I took this book out from my shelf yesterday and finished it by afternoon today. It was a refreshing read, and a very well-written story. This was the first book I've read about two women in love, having already acquainted myself with love between two men in Giovanni's Room previously this year. That was set in Paris in a bygone era whereas this was a very contemporary setting, right in the heart of America's university life.
Thanks so much PussInBooks, for RABCKing this book to me...I will soon pass it on to another good home.

Received the book today. Thanks for sending and also for the bookmarks and lovely postcards. I'm not sure have I ever got a book from India before. How cool!
I have tried to read the book several times but the couple of first pages haven't got me that interested. Couple of days ago I was able to continue it a bit further and today got it finished. Partly ok and interesting read but maybe my mood at the moment is not best for this kind (or any kind) of love story.
I will offer this to oofiri and for Invisible Library tomorrow.
