Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe

Picked up from a charity shop earlier, three books for £1!
From the blurb:
"As eighty-year old Mrs Cleo threadgoode tells Evelyn Couch about her life, she escapes the Rose Terrace Nursing Home and returns in her mind top Whistle Stop, Alabama in the thirties where the Whistle Stop Cafe provides god barbecue, good coffee, love, and even an occasional murder."
It's very rare that I give any book a rating of ten stars, but this book thoroughly deserves every single one. It made me laugh, it made me cry, and it prevented me from lesson planning as I couldn't do anything other than keep reading! An absolutely fantastic, fantastic, book.
Passing on to a colleague today, who loved the film.
