Paragon Walk
3 journalers for this copy...
A woman of high class status has been raped on Paragon Walk. The residents of that street close ranks around their own, so Inspector Pitt has a tough job ahead of him. As usual, his wife Charlotte, who has the access to society that her husband does not, helps him out in his quest. Another of Anne Perry's Inspector Pitt series, set during the Victorian period in England. I liked the Cater Street Hangman a little better, but this is a good one in the series.

Received in the mail today from quinnsmom. Thanks a bunch!
Cestmoi is reading this before me. I will give it to her on May 10/03.
Just received from poohbear3...we're sharing the series of Victorian England and crime and Thomas and Charlotte Pitt. I'll journal again!
Good story of a girl who is raped and murdered in a high society street i.e. Walk. Perry does a great job of showing the reader the class distinctions and what life wa like in Victorian England - her so called friends were more concerned with how Fanny's rape and death affected their own reputations and standing in the community than the fact that a young girl was brutally murdered.
There is much more character development in this novel and its nice to see Charlotte and Emily as their relationship matures.
Given to poohbear3 today.
