This is quite possibly one of the best books (if not the best) that I have read all year. First of all, I should comment on the author's writing style, because it was simply brilliant. I have never read a book by any other author who has had such a way with words. I will definitely be on the lookout for other books by the fabulous Merrill Markoe, and can only wish I could be as wonderful a writer as she is.
Secondly, the book itself was fantastic. I've always been a Dr. Doolittle fan, but this story takes the idea of the good Doctor and twists it into its own little story with its own unique and exceptionally well developed characters. So many times throughout the book I found myself thinking, "That is SO something my dogs would say if they could talk." She really had the canine thought process down to a T. And being a dog lover, it had me smiling and even laughing all the way through it. :)
This book was an absolute joy to read. I am keeping this in my PC, because I don't think I could bear to part with such a great dog story by such a great author.
