What can I say? I love Sayers' Lord Peter mysteries. And this one is one of the best of all. Peter Wimsey doesn't make an appearance until about halfway through the book; Harriet Vane is the co-star and main focus of the story. It's set on the campus of Shrewsbury, a fictional women's college at Oxford. The mystery is interesting, but it's the love story that really drew me in. What fine characters Peter and Harriet are!
If you haven't read a Sayers mystery before and you're a fan of the mystery genre, please, run out and get one. You won't be sorry. She's a marvelous writer who just happened to write quite a lot of detective fiction in addition to her more scholarly works. Excellent stuff.
