Aware of his life decaying with age, David enters a dooomed relationship with one of his students. Past caring for himself in his current form he allows the affair destroy his current existence.

Moving to his daughter's farm, an uneasy relationship is brought into stark relief by an horrific attack. As their situation deteriorates he doesn't recognise or accept the willingness of his daughter to allow her previous existence to be stripped bare in similar fashion to his own, which itself mirrors that of the country in which they live.

A great read with a wonderfully concise yet poetic writing style. Enjoy!
