I found this book from the hotel bookshelf from Portugal and took it with me to Finland, because I hadn't time enough to read this during the journey!
EDIT 020214:
I never seem to have enough time for this book. Now it's reserved to be sent as a birthday gift to someone of the Birthday Group 2014 :)

I never knew King Charles the First, 'Charles the Last', "Charles the Cheat' had been beheaded. Both he and Charles the second, who regained the throne, fought against their own country men, deprived them of food and led debaucherous lives. Still Charles the Third who has been crowned recently, probably didn't give his name another thought.
I have really enjoyed the history of the Tradescant family, having read both Earthly Joys and Virgin Earth. Philippa Gregory knows how to write a suspenseful story, and is very knowledgeable about many subjects, e.g. gardening. It was shocking though, to read about how the native Americans have been eradicated, and about slavery, and about the behaviour of the English Royal family...

Since this book has already been in Portugal, Finland, Belgium and The Netherlands, I thought it would be great fun to send it to yet another country: to my dearest friend Emma in the UK! Although she (and I) are actually looking for another Philippa Gregory-book for her, I think meanwhile she might want to read these Tradescant series.
I think you'll love them Emma! I hope you will read this message around X-mas time, although I don't think you're familiar with the Book Crossing Concept. We'll see what happens... Lots of love!

Enjoy both books!
