You have found a bookcrossing book! I hope that you enjoy reading this book, then pass it along to a friend, neighbor, family member, co-worker, or simply leave it somewhere for another lucky reader to find as you did! If this book isn’t the type that you like to read, please be kind enough to help it on its journey.

Please take a moment to leave a journal entry to let me know where you found this book. You may remain anonymous if you wish. After you read the book, please come back and let me know what you thought about it and what you will do with the book when you finish with it. You may come back any time to read where this book has traveled and what others thought about it. Thank you for letting me know where this book has traveled!

A young widow raising two boys, Sarah Laden is struggling to keep her family together. But when a shocking revelation rips apart the family of her closest friend, Sarah finds herself welcoming yet another troubled young boy into her already tumultuous life.

Jordan, a quiet, reclusive elementary school classmate of Sarah's son Danny, has survived a terrible ordeal. By agreeing to become Jordan's foster mother, Sarah will be forced to question the things she has long believed. And as the delicate threads that bind their family begin to unravel, all the Ladens will have to face difficult truths about themselves and one another—and discover the power of love necessary to forgive and to heal.

This is now an international bookray. Please make a journal entry when you receive the book to let us know that it arrived, then journal again after you read it and ship it out to the next reader. I do not want this book back, so the last person to receive it may release it as you wish when finished with it.

I reserve the right to refuse to add people to the bookray, based on their history. I will search the forums if I am not familiar with you and will refuse to add anyone with a history of stalling. I understand that unexpected things happen sometimes, but the key is communicating what is going on if something unexpected comes up.

I am finishing this book now and setting it aside for a bookray. I have been away from Bookcrossing way too long and have missed participating in bookrings, bookrays, and bookboxes.

This book rode around under the passenger seat in my car for a long time as an "emergency book." I usually keep something in there in case I get stuck away from home and need something to read. I finally had my emergency working very late one night admitting a child to a hospital and was so happy to have this book in the car. Once I started reading it, I could hardly put it down. It is great so far. My final comments will follow when I finish with it.

Enjoyed this book. It deals with the horrid sexual abuse of a child, so it was disturbing at times. I found myself having feelings of wanting to protect Jordan and was not at all bothered by the consequences that his parents faced as a result of the abuse.

I am a child welfare Social Worker and have seen firsthand the negative effects of sexual abuse on children. I liked the SW in this book, as he was realistic. Most books and movies especially portray SWs in a bad light. I did not like that he had somewhat of a romantic interest in the foster mother.

This book will be off for a bookray very soon.

Journal Entry 6 by lunatum at Savukoski, Lappi / Lappland Finland on Wednesday, February 8, 2012
The subject of the book was hard, but the writer managed to write well about it. I really liked the book. The way the writer descriped the feeling of the caracters was really enjoyable. I feel I really got to know these people who was in the book.

I already mailed the book to Greece (about half an hour later than I finished reading).

I just finished the book. When I started reading it I didn't know it would be like a punch in the stomach! A very difficult subject indeed. However the writer gave us a moving book which shows that there is evil in the world but there is also the power of love and this can bring balance and cure wounds.
I liked the fact that the narrator was different in each subject. The characters were well developed, so "real". Katrina Kittle seems to know very well how kids, teenagers and adults as well think and feel.
I can't keep the story out of my mind...

I pmed helena100 asking for her address a while ago.

This has arrived safely in the Swiss Alps. There are a few other books that have to be read before this one, but if worse comes to worst I have a long train journey coming up in two weeks and read it then and send it from France. Thanks for making this available, and for sending.

This book did a bit of extra travelling - I took it with me on a holiday to France, thinking to post it from there to the next in line for this ring. Unfortunately, it transpired that the next in line is not an active bookcrosser, and skipping that person gave me someone in France. While it is amazingly inexpensive to send books from France to other countries, I'd always heard domestic parcels are expensive. Anyway, I ended up reading it in the train on the way home.
This book reminded me a lot of some Jodi Picoult novels. I enjoyed it very much - in fact realized I was mulling over it again and again.
The story is very touching (hmm, not sure that's appropriate here) - ok, moving, on a somewhat difficult theme. How the guys next door can turn out to be the bad guys (and I'm using "guy" in a genderless way here), and "bad" is a bit of an understatement. I found the characters credible and well-portrayed - very human. I'm so glad I read this. I'll keep my eyes open for others by this author.
I just got Icila's address and hope to parcel over the weekend and post at the beginning of next week. Thanks so much for making this available and sending!

The statistics about children's sexual abuse are horrific. I'll have a look on the website the author talks about : www.darkness2light.org. One never knows...

Journal Entry 19 by lydoula at Leuven, Vlaams-Brabant / Brabant Flamant Belgium on Sunday, December 23, 2012
In general I liked the book despite the really sensitive topic that the author is writing about.
The only thing I cannot really understood at a certain level while I was reading the book was the stupidness of Sarah... Especially, where she couldn't believe that her friend had done all these things...

14/2/2013: I've asked for the address again as i've deleted the first mail. Book will be send either tomorrow or on monday.
