Found this book funny and irritating in equal measure. It certainly confirmed my realisation that I have no maternal instinct whatsoever. I found the female totally unsympathetic and could not understand the yearning for a child at all. As always, Ben Elton's style is amusing, but I think I've now read enough of his stuff to last me a while.
