Never Let Me Go

From the Booker Prize-winning author of The Remains of the Day comes a devastating new novel of innocence, knowledge, and loss. As children Kathy, Ruth, and Tommy were students at Hailsham, an exclusive boarding school secluded in the English countryside. It was a place of mercurial cliques and mysterious rules where teachers were constantly reminding their charges of how special they were.
Now, years later, Kathy is a young woman. Ruth and Tommy have reentered her life. And for the first time she is beginning to look back at their shared past and understand just what it is that makes them special–and how that gift will shape the rest of their time together.

Rec'd today. Thank you so much!!
Just bopping on to say I'm going to start reading this today.
7 stars: Good
----------------
I guessed the "twists" pretty early on with this book, so it didn't make it all that surprising to me. Still, the character study and relationships between Ruth, tommy, and Kathy was interesting. Ruth was very complex; I'm still not sure what I thought of her, or more pertinently, what Tommy or Ruth thought of her. The language by this author of "Remains of the Day" was beautiful, and it was a very speedy read. Good, but not something I'd reread. The "dystopian" aspect of it was in the background, and I think the theme of whether these students were truly human or not, should have been explored more.
Will release either at a meetup or to our local OBCZ.
